Program Support & Finance Specialist
Full Time | Remote
SteelGate LLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Support & Finance Specialist to provide operational, financial, and administrative support to our Program Management and Finance teams. This position plays a critical role in supporting government contracts by coordinating program activities, preparing customer invoices, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, monitoring project financials, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government contracting requirements.
Program Management Support
· Support Program Managers with day-to-day contract administration and project coordination.
· Assist with project setup, modifications, and closeout activities.
· Monitor contract funding, expenditures, and period of performance.
· Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and meeting minutes.
· Coordinate with Contracts, Finance, HR, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure project requirements are met.
· Assist with purchase requests, subcontractor documentation, and project-related approvals.
· Support monthly project financial reviews and forecasting activities.
· Maintain organized electronic contract and project files.
Customer Invoicing & Accounts Receivable/Payable
· Prepare and submit accurate customer invoices in accordance with contract requirements.
· Review labor, expenses, subcontractor costs, and other billable items for accuracy.
· Assist with cash receipt application and customer payment reconciliation.
· Process vendor invoices through the full AP cycle.
· Match invoices to purchase orders, invoices, receiving documentation, and contract requirements.
· Maintain vendor files and support vendor communications.
Financial & Administrative Support
· Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and journal entry support.
· Support expense report processing and corporate credit card reconciliations.
· Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and project cost tracking.
· Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
· Maintain compliance with company policies, FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
· 3+ years of experience supporting program management, accounting, project controls, or government contracts.
· Experience with customer invoicing and accounts receivable.
· Experience processing accounts payable.
· Working knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DCAA requirements.
· Experience with Unanet ERP preferred.
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
· Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Experience supporting Program Managers or Project Managers is highly preferred.

We're looking for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and serving as the bridge between Program Management and Finance. This individual will help keep projects financially healthy, ensure invoices are submitted accurately and on time, support vendor payments, monitor project data, and assist leadership with reporting and operational coordination.

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000
