Description
SteelGate is looking for an Information Systems Security Manager/Engineer (ISSM) as part of our Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) Acquisition Team supporting an active DoD contract. The primary responsibility of the ISSM will be to support the development of system engineering-focused processes and documentation to rapidly assess and authorize applications and technologies in mission critical areas. The ISSM should be experienced with performing security as an engineering function, including threat assessment and evaluation, risk management and security practices, system and network architecture and design including familiarity with system design documents, cloud architectures and associated FedRAMP process. They should also be able to assess, analyze, and participate in technology, system and security assessments, evaluations and audits. Experience with directly interfacing with senior leadership as well as private sector industry executives is a must.
Required Skills:
· Current and Valid DOD 8570/8140 IAT / IAM Level III Certification (required at start)
· Top Secret Clearance
· 7+ Years of Experience performing Risk Management leveraging System Engineering practices
· 5+ Years of Experience working in the Dept. of Defense.
· 3+ Years of Experience in cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) and FedRAMP process
· Strong understanding of software development, integration, delivery, and container platforms (required)
· 7+ Years of Experience with RMF Process
· Familiar with service-oriented architectures, service mesh architectures, data lifecycle management, distributed applications and distributed data processing
Preferred Skills:
· B.S. Information System Management, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology (4 years of direct work experience can be used in lieu of a degree)
· Excellent written and oral communications
· Ability to research unique issues and apply critical thinking to solutions
· Familiarity with DoD RMF application in context of engineering
· Ability to work and accomplish tasks with minimal guidance
· Ability to work independently and with multiple teams
· Ability to track and manage multiple tasks
Experience:
· Systems engineering: 5+ years (Preferred)
· Risk Management Framework process: 5+ years (Preferred)
· Cloud technology: 5+ years (Preferred)
Work Location: Remote with occasional on site at Pentagon and surrounding areas
