SteelGate LLC is hiring a full-time VoIP Engineer to join our team. In this role you will support the U.S. Air Force Tactical Operations by providing classified and unclassified VoIP services to tactical Air Force users. Candidates will be working as part of a 24x7x365 team to configure, design, document, administer, and troubleshoot all aspects of classified and unclassified VoIP services, including troubleshooting network issues, configuring Palo Alto Firewalls, working with SATCOM systems and providing Cyber Security Support. The candidate must be well versed with the implementation of VoIP services, STEP/Teleport SATCOM operations, configuration of Palo Alto Firewalls, implementation and functionality of security devices, switches, and routers of different vendors. Responsible for architecting and implementing the VOIP infrastructure, as well as ongoing management of it, in depth knowledge of Cisco Call Manager/Cisco Technologies, understanding of LAN/WAN/SATCOM networking and how VOIP relies on it, Cisco Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Voice Gateways, SIP Trunking, expert knowledge of Cisco IP telephony solutions, design/maintain VOIP architecture, install VOIP hardware, and troubleshooting voice issues.
Tasks include:
• Installation and configuration of network and VoIP equipment consisting of Call Managers, Palo Alto Firewalls, switches and routers.
• Installation of software including CUCM, vSphere and others as required.
• 24x7 operations to support the tactical user including configuring SIP trunks and firewalls for tactical user access as outlined by the SAR/GAR process.
• Monitoring mission operations to ensure there are no voice issues with the tactical user.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software malfunctions on routers, switches, firewalls, and servers,
• Deploy and support the hosted resources on the deployed system, including virtualized compute (VMs),
• Install Operating System firmware, software, patches, and upgrades, etc.
• Provide Systems Administrator (SA) support to VoIP system operational databases, software configuration control, and system interface for the VoIP system
• Develop and implement a change management process to handle system updates, modifications, and enhancements. Maintain a detailed configuration management database (CMDB) to track all assets, changes, and configurations.
• Perform security assessment reports and risk mitigation plans; documentation of applied security patches and updates.
Required Skills:
· Ability to design a VoIP network, install the VoIP network, configure the VoIP network and operate and maintain the VoIP network
· Ability to configure Palo Alto Firewalls.
· Strong understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and network security.
· Understand STEP/TELEPORT SAR/GAR process and how to translate the information in the SAR/GAR to configurations for the VoIP system.
· Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure solutions, including knowledge of security protocols, authentication, and authorization.
· Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux, and experience working with vSphere and call manager operating systems.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with the team and tactical stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical staff.
· Familiarity with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures related to information technology, security, and privacy.
Required Qualifications:
· 5 years relevant VoIP experience
· Minimum DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliance: Security + with CE; CCNA Voice or equivalent
· Must possess and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
Desired Qualification:
· Bachelor's with 3 years of experience
· Experience interpreting detailed installation instructions and supporting documentation to facilitate VoIP equipment implementation.
· Strict attention to detail; Adherence to rigid guidelines and processes; Ability to validate, update and maintain accurate records.
· Excellent ability for clear and concise oral and written communication; capability to interface at multiple levels and successfully present technical information.
· Preferred experience working with tactical users interfacing a DoD STEP/TELEPORT facility; DISA experience a plus
