Eric Davis – Vice President of Information Advantage

VP Information Advantage

Eric Davis is the Vice President of Information Advantage and the company’s primary Facility Security Officer.  Eric joined SteelGate in 2020 as a Cyber Security Systems Engineering and Technical Adviser contractor supporting the U.S. Army PM-DCO with designing, testing, fielding, and maintaining defensive cyber operations platforms.  He is now the Program Manager for that contract and leading SteelGate’s team in support of our partners on the Information Advantage Enterprise contract.

Eric specializes in digital systems forensics and malware analysis with 25 years of experience in achieving information advantage for the U.S. Army.  Eric has led incident response efforts against major threats, from early-day email-based worms to destructive malware from nation-state adversaries, using all available sources and reporting to model and characterize malicious activity on defended networks to detect and deny adversary movement within those protected networks.

Eric retired from the Army in 2018 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Cyber Branch after 20 years of service ranging from company command to Director of the Cyber Protection Brigade’s Cyber Fusion Center.  Eric graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and earned a Master of Science in Information Security and Assurance from George Mason University in 2015, where he received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award after graduating with a 4.0 GPA. He also graduated at the top of his military classes from SCCC, ISOL/ISM, and ILE, and he holds a PMP certification.

Outside the office Eric enjoys spending time with his family and church.  He enjoys fishing, cycling, woodworking, and cheering for Georgia Football.  He has two daughters attending college in Georgia, and three dogs keeping the house active while they are away.
