Josh is the Vice President of Cybersecurity at SteelGate LLC. He served in the Army for over 20 years and retired from active duty in May of 2018. His career included multiple combat deployments overseas and several assignments abroad. After retirement from the Army, Josh joined Armond and Jack at NES Associates which was later acquired by GDIT. At GDIT, Josh was a key member of a team that established the program to support the Army’s Defensive Cyber Operation platforms and capabilities. His technical aptitude and expertise were utilized by senior leaders to provide subject matter expertise, sound advice, and technical solutions to complex problems.
Josh joined SteelGate in 2020 as the Director of Commercial Cyber and was later promoted to the Vice President of Cybersecurity. He is a leader and technician who develops, integrates, and deploys secure, interoperable solutions across both enterprise and tactical environments. He is exceptional at communicating high-level strategy to drive practical technical implementation. He is one of the organization’s driving forces behind the organization’s technology roadmap. He successfully secured funding for and directed the establishment of SteelGate’s Innovation Lab, supporting the company’s commitment to continuous integration, continuous development, and providing cutting-edge solutions. Josh played a pivotal role in acquiring the organization’s ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and CMMI Level 3 certifications. He maintains numerous industry certifications including CISSP, ITIL v3 Foundations, and several GIAC certifications.
When Josh is not working, actively contributes to the cybersecurity community as the Communications Director for the Greater Augusta ISSA Chapter. In this volunteer role, he enjoys connecting students, fellow information security enthusiasts, with industry professionals. For leisure, Josh loves hitting the golf course, spending quality time with family and friends, and cheering on his favorite football team.
