Armond Rouillard is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and one of four owners of SteelGate,LLC. He helped form SteelGate with Jack Curran and the other Partners in 2019.
Armond retired from the Army in July of 2015 as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, after serving 28 years. His career included multiple deployments from Desert Storm to Iraqi Freedom, and supporting customers with data and cyber advising and engineering. Armond was also part of establishing the Army’s Cyber branch and Cyber School at Fort Gordon, GA.
After retirement, Armond co-led a directorate at NES Associates to provide cybersecurity services and expertise to small businesses, where they provided red team and blue team services including penetration testing, environment hardening, patching and scanning implementation, and monitoring and reacting to threat actor activities. When GDIT acquired NES, he moved to establishing a critical program supporting ARCYBER and the Army in their defensive cyber platforms and also provided cybersecurity advising and expertise to senior leaders at GDIT.
In 2019, Armond left GDIT and was one of the original founders of SteelGate,LLC. He initially started in the role of Chief Technology Officer for SteelGate,LLC, and later also assumed the duties of Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and manages a staff to provide global support across the 160+ employees on a daily basis. He is still relied on for his technical expertise and experience, especially in the cybersecurity areas and is frequently pulled in for advice on how to proceed for engineering and integration efforts, or strategic level changes.
Armond has a wife and two children, enjoys the outdoors and hiking, and is very involved with his church. One of his goals is to travel the United States with his family and assist small churches with their technical challenges of streaming their services online and establishing sufficient data services to get their message out in the digital world of today. He also enjoys woodworking and can occasionally be found on his tractor for “quiet time”.
