Tony Turnbow is the Audio-Visual (AV) Lead for the Pacific Region at SteelGate, LLC, where he manages modernization, lifecycle, and sustainment activities for U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and other Department of Defense (DoD) customers across the Indo-Pacific theater. Tony joined SteelGate in 2020 and serves as the Program Manager under the ESIM contract, overseeing personnel administration, project execution, and compliance across multiple sites in the Pacific region.
Tony began his career in the U.S. Air Force, where he developed his foundational expertise in telecommunications and network operations. Over two decades, he has built a distinguished career supporting DoD communications infrastructure, specializing in Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Unified Communications (UC), and Audio-Visual systems. His technical experience spans design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise systems for organizations such as U.S. Army Pacific, U.S. Forces Korea, and Special Operations Command.
Before joining SteelGate, Tony served in key technical and leadership roles with AECOM, GDIT, BANC3, and Dataline Inc., providing advanced engineering, system integration, and cybersecurity compliance support for secure VTC and AV environments. His responsibilities included overseeing major modernization projects, conducting system acceptance testing, managing IA packages, and ensuring compliance with DISA STIG and DoDIN APL standards. His leadership and expertise have contributed directly to mission readiness and operational efficiency across numerous high-visibility programs.
Tony maintains numerous industry certifications, including Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching, CompTIA Security+, ITIL v3 Foundation, and multiple Extron Professional certifications. His strong foundation in both engineering and operations enables him to bridge technical and organizational needs seamlessly.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys spending time with his family in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he resides. He is passionate about technology, mentoring others, and exploring innovative solutions that improve communication and collaboration across the defense community. He also enjoys sports, especially football and is a die hard Cowboys fan!
